A month late but yeah, Abdullah's Graveyard Poetry is one of those albums I can't shut up about. I've still never even heard their debut cause I just keep playing this one. That guy's voice is out of this world. Should be bigger. So I wash away the residue of another day of self abuse edit: WOOOOOOA...

Only one beer in, so probably not the right thread. Anyway, I'm listening to Exercises in Futility . I normally reach for WHTN . But, I've got the house to myself, making grim faces and raising both fists in the air. Every once in awhile you find a band that resonates loudly. For me, the most recen...

Speaking of Emptiness, they've got two new advance tracks out for their next album. These sound even weirder than Nothing but the Whole, which blew me away. It's like they've expanded on the non-weighty parts of their music, nothing ever really hits. Maybe the full album experience will be different...

Had been slavishly awaiting, and am now obsessing over, the new Furia, which doesn't really sound like the kind of thing I usually like, yet for whatever reason is making it way too easy to keep playing (well, streaming, for now) over and over again. Part of the appeal is the production: sounds enor...

If for some reason anyone needs more homogenized black/death metal in the style of Dissection with some other melodic Scandinavianisms of the 90s thrown in (eg: old Dimmu, Old Man's Child, Thy Serpent), this Hyperion is really good. There's enough ebb and flow to make it entertaining. To me, anyway....

Nechochwen - new agey sort of pagan stuff, Native American motif, better than my description would have you believe as long as you like it mellow n pretty Embrional - Polish death that finds better and weirder ways to get through an album than blasting Nocternity - one of the zillion or so Greek bl...

Well then. I hadn't heard. That sucks. Most of my nostalgia for that place comes from the 90s: goth revival, Club Fetish, that WRAS festival with 311, the Sexstacy Ball with Lords of Acid and Thrill Kill Kult, and the fucking Ween show where I had some kind of out of body experience during what felt...
