hahah no one understands that i left slayer out because they are more extreme then the rest of the traditional heavy metal, even though i like slayer more than all the bands on that list except maiden.
Oh, I understand. I do. I'm simply stating that I stand by my reply regardless. Now, had you prefaced the poll with "Besides Slayer..."

I say Motley Crue , I mean how can you beat such epics like....Use It Or Lose It , Starry Eyes , Red Hot , and Dancing On Glass. Motley was the best 80's band ever....If you say no , your just jealous because they all got more women and better drugs than all of you!

Another honerable mention would be Scatterbrain and Ludichrist!

BoB wrote:Wow, so many good bands not mentioned. Coroner, Forbidden, Possessed, Dark Angel, Death Angel, Exhorder, Sanctuary, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Motorhead, Vio-lence, Sodom, Venom, Annihilator, Exodus, Metal Church, Nuclear Assault, Voivod, Rigor Mortis, Helloween, Celtic Frost, Powermad, Agent Steel, Forced Entry, on and on.

I can't pick just one... I think they all brought something interesting to metal.
Maybe it should have said "Choose your favorite 80s band from among these choices"
