Man I really like power metal, flowermetal or whatever you want to call it theres something about really driving guitars/drums that I really like and the vocals in Blind Gaurdian are amongst the best. There songs stay interesting and border the technical side of metal.

I've never seen them live, but I've heard their vocalist is awful on stage and that he gets a lot of digital help (i.e. pitch correction) in the studio. But that's just what I heard.
By the way it's GUARDIAN.

I couldn't get into Night at The Opera. What did you think of it? Nightfall in Middle Earth had some good songs on it, but a lot of filler too in my opinion. My favorite is either Imaginations From The Other Side or Tales From The Twilight Hall.

I really like night at the opera some of those songs are written so well there amongst my favorites but then again this was the first album I heard from them so I might be partial to it.
Ive heard many people say the first album you hear from any band usually is your favorite and that might be the case.

I really liked the middle earth album but I agree that it was probably a little too ambitous but the first time I heard this album was on a live dvd from Germany or something and they blew me away plus those european audiences are crazy everyone was singing with raised fist and no one was moshing.

Well it's a generalization and will be different from person to person. I've noticed the same thing, how sometimes (again SOMETIMES) a person's favorite album by a band is the first one they heard. Personally, I've noticed it with several (several, not all) of my favorite albums too.

Blind Guardian had several.....issues......when they played at ProgPower USA III, but bad vocals weren't one of them as I recall. Packed show and from most accounts, a very good one.

Ex-BG drummer Thomen will be at PPUSA this year with his band Savage Circus, who sound remarkably like Blind Guardian. :D

In other power-metal news, Dragonforce is in the process of booking a date here, if all goes well.

Well then "usually" should be change to "sometimes" and "sometimes" changed to "rarely" and it would mean the same thing to me.
