Iv been listening to a lot of instrumental guitar music a lot, more than usual, so thats a lot haha. Iv been listening to Jason Becker more than anyone. It sucks he cant move at all anymore.
For neoclassical Yngwie is definitly my favorite. Hes a prick but to me he just has something that not many others have. I like George Bellas and Joe Stump a lot too.
I just heard Spastic Ink for the first time not to long ago and its like the most complex music, well progressive type of music iv ever heard.

Who are you favorite guitarists, and or bassists i guess.

Edit: oh yeah, a lot Liquid Tension Experiment and Cacophony (even though they arnt all instrumental) also.

I don't know about the best...this isn't about who's the best, in my opinion. Just the guitar and/or bass from the bands I like.

Adam Jones
Trey Azagthoth
Ryknow

When it comes to instrumental guitar music, lately my guitar hero is Steve Morse. I just got his band's CD Split Decision and it's fucking awesome. Stressfest and Structural Damage are really fucking good too. I really recommend him Neal. Coincidentally I was listening to Liquid Tension Experiment's 2 a lot last week too.

Slayer just wouldn't be Slayer if it weren't for Tom Araya's shredding solos :t01l3t:

Cool, Steve Morse. One of my favorite instrumental CDs ever is his High Tension Wires CD. Highly recommended.
