I tried drinking white wine one night and rye the other. Both types left me feeling just like beer does: nauseous and experiencing mind-throbbing pain in the skull. One night I didn't sleep at all. I ended up drinking Pepsi for the rest of the weekend. That's why you see me at shows now with a bottle of cola in hand. I just can't hold my liquor anymore. As few as three beers does me in. It's not worth it in the end.

I need to find a new vice. I'm open to suggestions.

I'm just posting this here to see if Knucklehead is tempted to check his phone while up in the cold, cold Yooper of MI in a little cabin in the snow in the middle of nowhere.

So let us speak of widdlies for a moment. What actually defines a widdly? Is it merely the baroque stylings of a guitar solo or is it the overabundance of said solos ( or any solos) in a single composition? Does widdly simply denote Malmsteen influences/comparisons to other guitar players and is he the only comparative standard (is HE the widdly)? Or...Michaelangelo Batio...widdly? Maybe.
Joe Satriani ...widdly? Dunno. Marty Friedman...widdly? Maybe. Eddie Van Halen...widdly? Dunno. Talk to me folks. I'm getting a headache.

edit: And fuck bonus tracks, too.

And fade-outs as well?

In my mind, widdiliness (that was an actual auto-correct!) is anything that is self-consciously melodically ornate, performed in a virtuoso style. So, I would say yes to all of those except Van Halen.

....

Now that I think about it, widdliness lacks aggression. That’s why Eruption isn’t widdily, IMHO.
