Withered was there, they just didn't play because one of the band members got sick -- I can't remember which one, but the others were there.
I personally liked Novum a lot. They kind of reminded me of old Dream Theater back before they started to suck, minus the vocals. I didn't even think of the Opeth reference but now that you mention it yeah I can see that. I don't mind tho because I didn't find it similar enough that it could ever be called copying their style.

Opinions...

Post by NeuroNomicon » Tue July 25th, 2006, 4:43 pm

...Opinions are like assholes. They sound great, and in our humble opinion, are the rippin'est band to cut loose from here in a very very long time. From Exile is still the best, but Novum's definitely going to go somewhere. They're of a calibre unmatched by most bands worldwide, let alone Atlanta. Don't trip!

While we appreciate the support, I am sure you guys have much better things to do than hype our band. We do what we can and try to have fun while doing it. There is ALWAYS someone better and there always will be no matter who you are. If you like it, listen to it, or come see a show/hang out whatever, if you don't, thats fine too. We all have taste, thats what makes music so awesome. Everyone experiences it differently. At any rate were only 2 shows into this and barely have 5 months of rehersal logged in. We definitely have plenty of ground left to tread and plenty of dues left to pay.

When you have the chance, send some stuff to WREKage so we can play it. \m/

We definitely will....we were planning on dropping off a disc last week but we didn't get around to it. Too busy getting prepared to rock all 10 of the people who came down to Jonesboro last weekend...... I kid, I kid, it was alot of fun even with no crowd.

I caught the Breakers gig. It was good stuff. They're definitely going to get compared to Opeth, but that's hardly a bad thing. Solid musicianship throughout.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Personally, im not into the mixing of melodic stuff into intense metal. But I am definitely into this band. I like Gael's side project a lot too.

I checked this shit out and it rocks. People ripping this band are intimidated that there's some real talent moving into this scene.

I have made a DVD of their show at the Highlander on the 25th, and I gave Chris & JB each a copy of it yesterday. Chris mentioned he will be putting it up on UTube. I reckon he'll probably announce that on myspace when he does.

It's small, but it's still a scene.
