Hey! Watch it with the ZX2 cracks! Mine's still going strong (95,000 miles) and it's still getting 40 miles/gallon highway! :)

Just got it back from the body shop after hitting a deer -- the deer went airborne 15 feet, which is a really weird thing to see -- so now my car looks almost new! :D

Dude....we were lucky the airbags didn't deploy. This was a BIG deer and a ZX2 is a small coupe. If we had hit it standing still it would probably have ended up on the roof or the windshield -- BAD news! But it was on the side of the road and I slammed on the brakes the moment we saw it. 50mph to maybe 30 when we hit it.
Naturally, being a deer with all the intellect of, say, a blargh or necro, it began running across the road in an effort to get killed. Instead of landing on the roof it went 15 feet vertical and off to the right, legs still kicking as it tried to keep running in mid-air. It was kinda funny except that I could tell the front-end was messed up (headlights aimed into the ground, turn-signal fucked up).

I hope it died. Maybe it 'flew' as far as the train tracks; there was a freight train coming up behind us. *splash* We didn't care; I just wanted to get home and assess the damage.

This was on GA Hwy 8 between Winder and Auburn. I see a lot of deer out in the wilds of Barrow and Gwinnett counties, but half of those have been on or near Hwy 8. And it's the busiest road in the county!

yeah you were lucky the airbags didn't go off, normally they cost about $1,200 to replace and depending on the miles they may have totaled it

but than again maybe you want it to total I know I felt that way about my Acura Image

the only thing i hated about the escort was that it was way too small for me, my wife and my baby in his car seat. the gas mileage was great though.

Oh I agree but you have to admit they are kind of a fun car to drive and or rag the fuck out lol.

No way! I don't want the car totaled...at least not yet. Short of buying a Toyota Pious, there's no way I could match the mileage!

And anyway, the car goes back into the body shop on Monday. A drunk driver -- a woman -- bumped me on I-85 last Sunday morning..and didn't stop. So, I had to pursue her while calling 911. Gwinnett County finally showed up about ten miles later, five police cars, and nailed her. Suspicion of DUI and maybe fleeing the scene.

2007 hasn't been a good year for my car; this damage is about $2,200.

i used to but we moved out to hiram. i loved the brumby though, part of me still wishes that we lived there........but the other part of me likes the huge house i bought and pay less for every month. but i thought that the brumby and everyone who lived and worked there was a blast(especially the C building).
