....is a collaboration with Lou Reed.
I don't even know what to make of this. Metallica hasn't been good for 20 years. Lou Reed has been good since James and Co. were in diapers.

Ugh. It is
true.
I gave up on these guys 20 years ago. Why do I keep going back to them, like a puppy that has been kicked, hoping for that one last fix?

do not keep me posted unless they decided to finally go back to the ol' thrashing ways like that did in the 80s.

“Lars and I listened to the stuff,†Hetfield says of Reed’s demos, “and it was like, ‘Wow, this is very different.’ It was scary at first, because the music was so open. But then I thought, ‘This could go anywhere.’ â€Â
Nowhere good, I'm sure.

Death magnetic is pretty good, it's not 80s Metallica but damn, anything is better than St Anger!

Yeah, this is just fucked up wrong.
Even excluding VU material, he gave us Transformer, Metal Machine Music, Coney Island Baby, Mistrial, New Yuk... just to name a few.
He writes better lyrics than Leonard Cohen and his guitar playing is akin to what Phil Rudd does with the drums.

Apparently, they are also about to begin working on an album of their own material, with Rick Rubin again.
Still, I don't hold out high hopes.
No Life 'til Leather? Yeah, right.

Haha yeah, I'd say Metallica will be the one bringing the suck to whatever they put together.
