The Earl is pay at the door kind of bar for day of. If it's advance tickets your talking about, I believe it's through their website only.

This turned out to be a really good one...I wasn't expecting much but even the openers were pretty good. I missed most of Against the Grain as I got hungry and had to go outside for food :s (next time better eat before the show!)

Anvil was Anvil. Nothing extra-ordinary but just really fun.
oh and cheap beer 8)

Also met ratanda (could barely hear anything so not sure if he heard anything I said)

Cool, yeah I couldn't hear anything but I figured that was you.

Gunpowder Gravy was really good. They ended with their Thin Lizzy cover which I haven't heard them play in a while. Against The Grain wasn't bad at all.

I wasn't into Anvil. The musicianship was great and they were tight, but the vocals had ZERO power behind them. They smiled the entire time and had good stage presence so you know they enjoyed themselves and it was a genuine performance though. The singer did say he just turned 60 so maybe that was it. I had to leave at that Pirate song. I could totally picture that dude telling dumb dad jokes to his kids and their friends. I think that's what we experienced actually.

Please tell me this isn't a typo and they really changed their name to Gunpowder Gravy. I need this.

It's a joke -- one of the band members was telling Dan over at FB that he had put on weight...
