I thought it was pretty much explained but ok It's a concert, similar to Clash of the Titans, with no AIC, so I can almost relive the experience , but for you slow people:
As first hinted on July 6, BLABBERMOUTH.NET can now exclusively reveal that 1991's original American "Clash of the Titans" lineup  SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX  will hit the road together once again on leg two of the "American Carnage" tour. This trek kicks off September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theatre in Dallas, Texas and will play 20 dates, including New York's Nassau Coliseum, concluding at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 21.
On leg two of "American Carnage", MEGADETH will continue to roar through its landmark 1990 album "Rust in Peace" from front to back, while SLAYER will rip the roof off by performing its much-lauded "Seasons in the Abyss" album, which was also released in 1990. ANTHRAX recently welcomed back singer Joey Belladonna, who defined the band during its heyday, and now permanently back in the band, will be front-and-center.
A special pre-sale will launch this Wednesday, July 14, and fans should log on to Slayer.net, Megadeth.com or Anthrax.com to obtain the special code needed for the pre-sale, and then go to Ticketmaster.com (KnoxvilleTickets.com for the Knoxville date) to purchase tickets. The public on-sale will begin July 23 in most markets.
In the spirit of beating the recession, there will be pre-sale discounts on all tickets in most markets (see below for more details), and if that's not enough, a limited amount of $10 tickets will be available in many cities. Log on to any of the bands' web sites or on to Ticketmaster's site for those details.
But wait, there's even more. For leg two of the "American Carnage" tour, MEGADETH has teamed up with ILoveAllAccess.com to provide fans with VIP experiences including priority venue access, meet-and-greets, parties, exclusive gifts and more. Logging on to Megadeth.com will provide those details. Plus, fans who purchase their tickets online at either Slayer.net or Ticketmaster.com will receive a free download of the live audio track "War Ensemble", set to be included on SLAYER's forthcoming, as-yet-unannounced "Live Intrusion" DVD release.
SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will kick off the second leg of the "American Carnage" tour on the heels of the historic "Big Four" Sonisphere festival concerts they played with METALLICA in seven European cities this summer. The dates marked the first time that these four bands  acknowledged as the most influential bands of the thrash genre  had shared a concert bill.
The original "Clash of the Titans" tour united the three forces of thrash metal for the entire summer of 1991, with then-little known ALICE IN CHAINS serving as the opener. This tour, which falls under the "American Carnage" banner, isn't rewriting history, it's writing a whole new chapter of head-banging history that is sure to delight fans new and old.
MEGADETH and SLAYER return to North America late this month to co-headline the East Coast "Canadian Carnage" tour, and then starting August 11, the first leg of the "American Carnage" tour" (dates below) with TESTAMENT as special guest. The tour was originally scheduled for a winter 2010 run, but was postponed when SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya was forced to undergo neck surgery. But as is the case for anything good in life, this tour will be well worth the wait.
Confirmed dates for leg two of the "American Carnage" tour are as follows:

Here's the way it plays out for me. YMMV.V03GTLIN wrote:I've got yr mixed feelings, right here, big guy...Knucklehead wrote:Huh. I've sort of mixed feelings about that.
I really tried to convince myself that I liked Anthrax back in the day. I bought all their albums and even saw them on the original Headbanger's Ball tour. But, the truth is, I just don't like them. I'm sure that I would still enjoy Spreading the Disease and Fistful, but the rest of it is just too goofy. What the fuck was up with Belladonna's hat, anyway?
I just saw Megadeth play Rust in Peace -- what need is there to see them play that again? Besides, I saw them on the SFSG ... SW? tour and, IMO, they peaked with Peace Sells.
I had pretty much stopped listening to Slayer by the time they released SITA. I remember borrowing my buddy's tape, after it came out, and being pretty underwhelmed. For god's sake, play Show No Mercy or Hell Awaits.
I would go to see Slayer again. I suspect there aren't that many tours left for them. But, on the other hand, I'm a spoiled pussy and Gwinnett is along way away. (Props to Gene for being the motherfucking maniac that he is.) And I hate arena shows.
So... Meh.
What will probably end up happening is that my buddy is going to be all psyched about this and I will tag along. He's reduced his drinking, so I'll at least have a designated driver.
(1) The goofiness was always the appeal for me. Plus, I love SOD, which is 1000xs worse than anything Anthrax ever did, incl the bit w/ Flava Flav.
(2) As long as Megadeth plays like they did four months ago, I'll stomach RIP just fine.
(3) Slayer. Fucking Slayer. Not as one of 20 shitty nu-metal bands playing an amphitheatre in August. But w/ one goofy band and another good, technically strong band.

No arguments about SOD's first album. In some ways, they refined what Anthrax was about into one solid, nugget of metal.V03GTLIN wrote:(1) ... Plus, I love SOD, which is 1000xs worse than anything Anthrax ever did, incl the bit w/ Flava Flav.
Milano's lyrics were utterly ridiculous. But I never got the sense that he was faking. Besides, I'd take "I'm passing clots the size of basketballs" any day over "cry for the Indians."
You hit the nail on the head there, chief.V03GTLIN wrote:3) Slayer. Fucking Slayer. Not as one of 20 shitty nu-metal bands playing an amphitheatre in August. But w/ one goofy band and another good, technically strong band.
