finally took the time to watch this. their drummer needs to learn how to hit a drum, what a wimp. also, fuck a bunch of "elevated intelligence and understanding" posturing. you are hipsters playing black metal because it's cool now and trying to justify it by "being ironic" in some over thought out and grandiose way because you're "too cool" to just be a black metal band.

dumb.
Fucking brilliant man, totally what I was thinking but couldn't put into words.

Not for $85.00. I did just get Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz for $19.00. Seemed a little high but I've had a hard time finding that one.

Every once in a while you can find a sweet deal on ebay (scored an OP of Insect Warfare "World Extermination" for $10 including shipping) but for the most part it's over priced shenanigans

Got a Spazz re-press for $10, green vinyl. Why not? I also have a white re-press of the first ST.

Ebay had the cheapest copy of The Meads of Asphodel's Exhuming the Grave of Yeshua I could find.

Shopping on eBay is all about patience and using the "save this search" function.

So meaningful that I had to say it twice.

Yeah I'm not about to spend stupid amounts on anything either. I got most of my Bolt Thrower CDs off eBay, all for pretty cheap - anywhere from $2- $10 per cd. I also found a Hemdale tape for dirt cheap too among some other things I can't remember.

Damn, Ryan. I'm glad no one bothered to study or perhaps grasped Withered's general approach to music and especially subject matter on Dualitas. I mean clothing, haircuts, and any perceived pretentiousness aside, I've expressed very similar sentiments about music on numerous occasions as these fellows. I know our musical approach is different and we are, or at least look, more metal but idealistically, I share a lot of hunter's perspective in that regard. Withered's music and esoteric focus has done a lot for me on a personal level. You can call it spirituality or anything you like but it is very "transcendental". I guess we're not preachy or anything. Nor have we tried to establish a sub-sub-genre out of it.

I mean, if those exact same words came from someone like Erik Danielson and it were watain sitting there saying these things, people would be stoked. I'm not defending trend hopping or any hipster approach of "adapting" musical styles out of irony. BUT, I do think these guys believe in what they're doing even if they need to relax a little and not take themselves so seriously.

By "people", you mean "complete tools", I think.

Ha! indeed. def too many blind-followers looking for someone else to give them guidance. Maybe I'll see if I can get Erik to tell people to eat their own terds and post it on youtube in protest of humanity, oh, and christianity! that should provide hours of late-night stoned entertainment.

Yeah....... Um....

Erik Danielson is an interesting study in how someone can go from seemingly "bona fides" to "Bozo" in a three record stretch.

Haha i'd say the key word in my statement would be "posturing." You guys present your ideals and views in a way in that your music is an extension of and exorcism of your personal demons which, in reality, is what most good music is in one form or another... while that guy presents it as some sort of "holier than thou" stance to black metal in general.

Elevated intelligence and understanding through musical expression is great... just not when it's conveyed by some pompous shithead who quit his metalcore band last week. Basically what Withered does is real and genuine while those guys are false as shit, the distinction is plain to see. i couldn't care less how they look (though that dude needs to figure out what's going on on his head) it's their sentiment that seems false... like all their supposed idioligy is only their to justify that they're playing black metal because it's cool right now.
